NBP Fund Management Limited (NBP Funds) is inviting applications from qualified and detail-oriented professionals for the position of Data Analyst / Research Associate, Equity Research & Research Automation at its Head Office in Karachi.
The position is an excellent opportunity for professionals with an interest in data analytics, equity research, financial markets, research automation, and AI-enabled workflows. The selected candidate will support the equity research team through effective data management, analytical reporting, database management, and automation of research processes using technologies such as SQL, Excel, Python, and AI/ML techniques.
Position: Data Analyst / Research Associate
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting equity research activities through accurate financial and market data management, research automation, analytics, and reporting. The role requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and an understanding of financial markets and investment research.
Key Responsibilities
The Data Analyst / Research Associate will be responsible for:
- Sourcing, cleaning, and validating PSX, financial-market, sector, and company data
- Managing research databases, including data extraction, transformation, and documentation using SQL
- Developing and maintaining research reports, trackers, dashboards, and analytical datasets
- Developing Python-based automation using tools and libraries such as Pandas and NumPy
- Identifying opportunities to automate manual research processes through AI and machine-learning tools
- Supporting quantitative analysis and time-series forecasting
- Providing senior researchers with accurate and reliable investment data
- Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, quality, and timely delivery across research workflows
Education and Required Skills
Candidates applying for the Data Analyst / Research Associate job at NBP Fund Management Limited should ideally have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
The desired skills and knowledge include:
- Working knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python, particularly Pandas and NumPy
- Understanding of financial statements, PSX, equity markets, dividends, and corporate actions
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or AI-assisted automation tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent collaboration skills and high attention to detail
