Shakeel Akhter Appointed as Chief Information Officer at Novacare Hospitals

Shakeel Akhter has embarked on a new professional chapter as Chief Information Officer at Novacare Hospitals, bringing more than three decades of experience in information technology, healthcare informatics, and digital transformation. His expertise in hospital management information systems, electronic medical records, IT infrastructure, and enterprise technology solutions has contributed to advancing digital healthcare and improving operational efficiency.

Before joining Novacare Hospitals, Akhter served as Chief Information Officer and Director of IT at The Indus Hospital, where he led initiatives to develop and implement paperless hospital information systems. His career also includes serving as General Manager, MIS at Shifa International Hospitals Limited and as a Health Informatics Consultant across various healthcare technology projects. Through his leadership, he has contributed to implementing hospital applications across more than 65 hospitals and training over 4,000 end users.

Akhter’s extensive experience in healthcare technology, information security, system integration, and strategic IT leadership positions him to support technology-driven healthcare operations. His appointment marks another significant milestone in a career dedicated to strengthening healthcare delivery through innovative and reliable information systems.
